There are government decisions and other ministerial announcements which constitute an additional provisions for labor law. The Government of Umm Al Quwain passed a distinctive  law for government employees covered the issues of ethics (responsibilities and practices), the work environment, employment policies, compensation and benefits. You ought to check this law to become familiar with your rights and responsibilities.

A decision issued by the Ministry of Labor imposed tight restrictions on the establishment of private recruitment agencies; where it limited their licenses to citizens. In addition, the decision stated that the partners, or all of the signatories to the establishment of a new recruitment agency, must be of UAE nationals in order to be able to obtain a license. Private recruitment agencies which have been previously awarded license were given a deadline of 6 months, starting from January 2011, to adjust to the requirements of the resolution.
